It's one of the few things besides gaming that's keeping me on Windows these days (although it can apparently run pretty well via WINE on Linux). Hide your llamas MusicBee replaced Winamp/foobar2000 for me a long time ago, and I've had a tough time finding any alternatives that really measure up.The lossless files can always be converted to a lossy format like mp3 for putting on your phone or something. I have all the required redists and even tried building from source myself using the original code and new libraries, no luck at all. Here's my OS/MB info: Windows 10 Version 2004 1.450 MusicBee Version. I see the visualizer graph/bar for a few seconds before MB hangs. If you have ample digital storage, consider ripping the CDs in a lossless format (like FLAC) for archival purposes. This plugin is crashing for me on the latest MB version. Ripping DVD's/CD's MusicBee is great for ripping CDs to various formats (mp3, m4a, FLAC, etc.) It's very good at adding the correct tags and album art to the rips.As you listen your music in Winamp, MilkDrop 2 takes you flying through visualizations of the soundwaves youre hearing, and uses beat detection to trigger myriad psychedelic effects, creating a rich visual journey through sound. After 15 years of using Media Monkey, I've decided to move to MusicBee. MilkDrop is a music visualizer - originally a 'plug-in' to the Winamp music player, and now available as OSS. The files all have covers on them on my Mac but the covers don’t appear on the iPod. Wondering if there is a reason some covers appear and some don’t. Syncing music to mobile devices is also supported, and as a music player, it is. It works well with my library of 21k files - not sure how it performs with libraries much larger. It allows users to add custom tags or to download information for their music from credible sources, such as Last.fm. Winamp 5.9 Final Released I've used both Foobar and MusicBee (on Windows) and personally I prefer MusicBee's interface. I have a Billboard compilation album, and it works fine. Filter by these if you want a narrower list of alternatives or looking for a specific functionality of MusicBee. MusicBee alternatives are mainly Audio Players but may also be Media Players or Internet Radio Services. When SkyFrontier said its hard for him to change, once he gets used to a program, he reminded me of the similarity between WinAmp and AIMP. Other interesting Windows alternatives to MusicBee are AIMP, Strawberry, Clementine and Winamp. Even the name seems to bear this heritage. MusicBee is ranked 2nd while Winamp is ranked 5th. The most important reason people chose AIMP is: AIMP supports a huge list of audio formats and several playlist types. Any recommendations for a music manager and player that can actually handle compilation albums and "Various Artist" albums? I recommend MusicBee. I just mentioned it because it comes closest to WinAmp from what users have told me. AIMP is ranked 1st while MusicBee is ranked 2nd.
